Our Desk Terrarium

We try to keep our workspace as clean and as orderly as possible. End of day ‘tidy-ups’ are a fond notion, however much like public transport they can often be subject to delays. When we do manage to organise our desk, it can feel somewhat lifeless. This spurred our most recent weekend project.

Our Desk Terrarium.

Inspired by various greenrey on Instagram we wanted to add a little fauna to our work desk.

We purchased a geometric pendant vessel from Urban Outfitters. For foliage, we went to a local florist to buy what are known as succulents as well as some moss and soil. We collected some small rocks and pebbles from the nearby loch beside our studio workshop, which admittedly took quite a while to locate the most obscure ones.

Via an online step by step guide, we assembled our new terrarium in what we thought was the best composition. Watering occurs one every few months and more frequently than that, the occasional dusting to keep the glass panels clean.

For anyone that is looking to brighten up any windowsill, shelf or deskspace, we recommend you aspire towards those executed by leading experts such as LondonTerarraiums or Terrariumhouse.
